Villa win consecutive games for the second time under Jimmy Hogan as Eric Houghton and Frank Broome hit braces.

Villa make it seven wins in the last twenty four second tier games and an overall record of eleven wins, eleven draws and eight defeats in thirty division two matches. 

Jimmy McMullan had recorded five wins, five draws and three defeats in his thirteen division two matches in charge and his successor Jimmy Hogan had now delivered six wins, six draws and five defeats in his seventeen game spell.
