Villa do it again, allow the opposition to take control of the match through their own passivity before being startled into action by a goal. 

Luckily for Villa their trigger goal comes earlier than against Newcastle and they rescue a draw - but still await a first League win in 1961. Villa have no game for 7 days when they make the short trip to neighbours Birmingham.

Joe Mercer's Villa make it thirteen wins, ten at home, six draws and eleven defeats, eight away, in thirty games following their return to the top flight. 

Meanwhile, full back Doug Winton made his final appearance for Villa aged 31 before moving on to Rochdale in June 1961. Winton played for Villa between 1958-59 and 1960-61 making 50 appearances.
