Joe Mercer’s Villa, two goals down from the first leg, are held to a goalless first half before forcing extra time by drawing level by full time from goals from Alan O'Neill and Harry Burrows before Peter McParland hit a 109' winner to win the inaugural League Cup final 3-2 on aggregate.
