The results however are only one side of the story with the football under Docherty best described as conservative, the aggression, fouls and booking counts up and time-wasting used as a clear tactic, but despite the concerns, Docherty's results are keeping Villa well away from the danger zone but seventeen games into his tenure there is widespread desire for the shackles to come off and for the football to mirror the manager's self confidence.
