Tony Barton's 🏴 Villa 🟥 lose for the first time this season as Peter Withe 🏴 ⚽ scores at both ends to make it 🟩 two wins and 🟥one defeat in three League games.
Although Withe 🏴 hits a last minute consolation but its not enough as Villa's League and European Cup winning striker's own goal at the other end leaves Villa 8th in the first division table.
The Loftus Road pitch however was the real man of the match. An artificial covering that all but the Rangers' players castigated. Newly promoted QPR had an entirely unmerited home advantage that threatened to engulf top flight football in controversy.
Centre forward Paul Rideout 🏴 19 makes his debut appearance in a Villa shirt after moving from Swindon Town in June 1983 for a fee of £350,000 to become the 623rd player to play for Villa in first team League or Cup football.
Forward Gary Shaw 🏴 makes his 175th start in a Villa shirt (177 Appearances).
