“After my goal was disallowed, I said something to the linesman and then made a gesture at him. “When the referee [David Letts] went over, the linesman [Paul Alcock] insisted it was Peter. But it was me. Paul Rideout. “That [getting the wrong man] doesn’t affect my report at all, which is already in the post. “It is up to the club and players concerned to make representations to the FA. “The linesman [Paul Alcock] was adamant in his evidence that it was Withe and told Withe so.” David Letts. “Both Withe and Rideout will be submitting their version of the incident to the FA [after David Letts and linesman Paul Alcock’s mistake].
