Billy McNeill's 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Villa stop a run of 🟥 three defeats as they recover from 1-3 down to 🟨 draw with 17th placed Manchester United

Villa are without a 🟩 win in seven under McNeill and have just 🟩 eleven wins in their last 🕒 forty six League games 🟥 losing twenty two. 

Villa's winless run extends to seven in all competitions as they remain 19th in the table.

Midfielder Steve Hodge 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 24 makes his 70th & final appearance in a Villa shirt having agitated for a move for months. Hodge moves on to Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £650,000 with Villa having paid Nottingham Forest £400,000 for his services 16 months earlier. Villa had turned Hodge into an England international and amongst many complaints he claimed leaving was in order to boost his international chances. 

Ironically however, once leaving struggling Villa, Hodge found his national team opportunities much more limited. Hodge left under a cloud that remains to this day with a record of 🟩 W22 🟨 D22 🟥 L26, ⚽ 16 Goals and 🔥 9 Assists.
