ON THIS DAY
Sunday, 19 February 2006
Villa are held by an injury time equaliser as Manchester City force a shock FA Cup fifth round replay.
Right back Mark Delaney, 29, makes his final appearance in a Villa shirt before retiring from the game due to injury in August 2007. A great player for the club, Delaney's injuries prevented him from being the ever present his commitment and ability deserved. Over his 10 seasons with the club Delaney recorded W72 D56 L65, 3 Goals, 6 Assists, 23 Bookings and 2 Red Cards. Delaney's contribution to the Villa didn’t end with his playing career as he seamlessly moved into becoming youth academy coach before being ousted by the odious Gerrard regime in 2022.
Milan Baroš contributes his 15th goal involvement in a Villa shirt on his 21st appearance (20 Starts) to make it W7 D8 L6, 9 Goals, 6 Assists and 5 Bookings at a goal involvement rate of one for every 1.40 games he has played so far in his Villa career.
Jlloyd Samuel records his 50th draw in a Villa shirt on his 189th appearance (164 Starts) to make it W67 D50 L72, 3 Goals, 10 Assists, 25 Bookings and 1 Red Card so far in his Villa career.
