ON THIS DAY
Saturday, 13 February 1909
Villa dominate proceedings only to concede against the run of play after 37'. The second half follows the exact same pattern and Bradford score a second despite being on the end of one way attacking traffic. To make matters worse the visitors rough play puts them three up with a Charlie Wallace consolation 4' from time all Villa have to show for their efforts.
Villa suffer their sixth defeat in seven to make it eight wins, eight draws and ten defeats in their twenty six division one games so far this season.
Meanwhile, full back Jock McKenzie and forward Alec Logan made their final appearances for Villa aged 33 and 27 before moving on to Bristol City and Falkirk in July 1909 respectively. McKenzie had only made his debut in November 1908 and went on to make five appearances for the club whilst Alec Logan - having made his debut in March 1907 - scored twelve goals in his 25 appearances for Villa.
