Reigning Champions Villa end a run of four consecutive wins as they can only draw at home with bottom side Bury dropping them to 4th place in the League, one point behind League new boys Liverpool but with 2 games in hand. Villa however were now unbeaten in six games, their best run of the season and a strong title defence looked much more likely than it had done a month earlier. Full back Albert Evans made his Villa debut aged 22 after joining from Barnard Castle FC.
