🟥 7 Apr 1920, Villa 3-6 Bolton, Villa Park
ON THIS DAY
Wednesday, 7 April 1920
Villa lose for the first time in three as they ship six at Villa Park and suffer one of the worst results at home in their history second only to a 1-7 defeat also at the hands of Bolton that they suffered in December 1914.
Meanwhile, centre back Tommy Ball made his Villa debut aged 20 in less than auspicious circumstances after joining from Newcastle United in July 1919.
