ON THIS DAY
Saturday, 5 March 1921
Legendary Villa forward Clem Stephenson (pictured) made the last of his 216 appearances as the holders lose in the 4th round of the FA Cup to a side they had already beaten home and away this season and who they had vanquished in the 4th round of the previous campaign. Clem had scored 96 goals over his seven seasons winning two FA Cups before his move to Huddersfield Town later this month. Also making their final bows for Villa were centre back Jimmy Harrop after 171 appearances and four goals before moving on to Sheffield United in May 1921; right back Jack Thompson after 28 appearances before moving on to Brighton & Hove Albion in August 1921; and winger Jimmy Stephenson after 32 appearances and two goals before his move to Sunderland in May 1921.
