Villa play neighbours Birmingham (aka the club with three names) for the first time since 1908 but are held at Villa Park to make it eighteen wins, three draws and ten defeats in thirty one division one games. Meanwhile, forward Jock Johnstone made his Villa debut aged 25 after moving from Dundee in February whilst left back Tommy Weston made his final Villa appearance aged 31 before moving on to Stoke in August 1922. Tommy had made 179 appearances over his seven seasons with the club winning the FA Cup twice in 1912-13 and 1919-20.
