Villa face Albion for the third successive game to suffer their sixth League defeat in nine losing 1-4 for the fourth time in their last five losses to make it eight wins, eleven draws and ten defeats in twenty nine division one games. Meanwhile, winger George Clarke made his single appearance for Villa aged 24 after joining from Mansfield Town in January 1925 before moving on to Crystal Palace in July, whilst defender George Jakeman made his long awaited debut aged 25 after joining from Metropolitan Carriage Works FC as a youth in 1916.
