🟩 1 Apr 1925, Villa 4-0 Arsenal, Villa Park
ON THIS DAY
Wednesday, 1 April 1925
From nowhere a Villa side who had failed to score in four, lost nine of their last thirteen League games and who had won just once in 1925 hit four goals - as many as they had managed in their last eight League and Cup games - to beat Arsenal and make it nine wins, twelve draws and thirteen defeats in thirty four division one games. Meanwhile, forward Billy Dinsdale and midfielder Tom Jones made their Villa debuts aged 21 and 19 after joining from from Crook Town and Oakengates in March 1925 and July 1922 respectively.
