The season finale - Villa’s 1,350th League and FA Cup game - also saw the final game for Secretary Manager George Ramsay after his astonishing 1,324 matches in charge. Ramsay, who took on the role at the age of 35 was now 71 and retired to Llandrindod Wells before passing away aged 80 on the 7 October 1935 to leave a gravestone reading “Founder of Aston Villa”.
