🟩 3 December 1966, Villa 2-1 United, Villa Park.
ON THIS DAY
Saturday, 3 December 1966
Dick Taylor's wildly inconsistent Villa win for the first time in four to make it six wins, three draws and ten defeats in nineteen League games so far this season.
Villa record a surprise victory over League leaders Manchester United to climb out of the relegation places to 19th and level on points with Sunderland and Fulham two points clear of the drop after 19 games.
The game though is notable for more appalling behaviour from Nobby Stiles. The football thug manages to get Lew Chatterley booked to boot.
