Winger Jack Sharp made his final appearance for Villa aged 21 before moving on to Everton as Villa lost their second successive League match and their second defeat to Forest in three games. As a result Villa remained first in the table with 10 games to play but were now only ahead of Liverpool on goal ratio although they retained two games in hand on their nearest rivals.
