Villa lose successive games to make it one win, two draw and two defeats in five division one games as legendary defender Jimmy Cowan made his final appearance for Villa aged 28 after 13 seasons, 357 appearances, 33 goals, five League titles, two FA Cups and two Charity Shields, Jimmy hung up his claret and blue boots. Cowan returned to Scotland to play for Dundee Harp leaving as a most decorated and revered player.
