Forward Gabriel Agbonlahor makes his final appearance for Villa aged 31 after 13 seasons with Villa. Sadly, despite his long service, the last 18 months had seen Agbonlahor become a divisive figure following his apparent care free attitude to Villa’s relegation. That however would misrepresent Agbonlahor’s commitment to and passion for Villa, in his 13 seasons Agbonlahor made 391 appearances, of which 51 were as a substitute and scored 87 goals. Not prolific but one of our own on whom history will ultimately look with affection. Agbonlahor was released by Villa in July 2018 before retiring from football after stating he would not wish to represent another club give his connection to Villa.
