๐ฉ 26 January 2019, Villa 2-1 Ipswich, Villa Park.
ON THIS DAY
Saturday, 26 January 2019
Villa win for the first time in five Championship games to make it six wins, six draws and two defeats in fourteen League matches under Dean Smith.
Tammy Abraham became the first player to score in 7 successive home games since Pongo Waring in 1932-33 as Villa finally got back to winning ways after 6 games without a victory.
Neil Taylor secures his 30th win in a Villa shirt on his 64th appearance (60 Starts) to make it W30 D15 L19, 2 Assist, 8 Bookings and 1 Red Card so far in his Villa career.
Former Villa centre back James Collins lined up for Ipswich having originally signed to play for Villa for the season as a free agent. Having joined Villa for a second time however, Collins injured himself in training and was unable to take part in the early stages of the campaign. As a result Collins ripped up his contract so as not to leave Villa with a financial burden. A leader on and off the pitch.
