Meanwhile, midfielder Samuel Greenhalgh made his Villa debut aged 23 after joining from Bolton Wanderers in January 1906 whilst full back Walter Brown made his final appearance aged 29 having made twelve appearance for the club. Brown would move on to Plymouth Argyle in August 1906.
