Villa extend their unbeaten run to four games but are held at home for the second time in three to make it five wins, two draws and five defeats in their twelve division one games so far this season.
Meanwhile, winger Bobby Evans made his final appearance for Villa aged 21 before moving on to Sheffield United in October 1908 for a fee of £1,100. Evans had scored four goals in his seventeen appearances since making his debut in November 1906.
Also playing their final game for Villa was midfielder Alex Leake who made his final Villa appearance aged 36 before moving on to Burnley in December 1907.
Alex had provided sterling service to Villa over his six seasons with the club, winning the 1904-05 FA Cup and making a total of 140 appearances whilst scoring nine goals.
