Player #86 for Aston Villa, James Jabez Paton, known as Jim Paton played as a forward for the club in the 1892-93 season.

Jim was born in Glasgow on 1st July 1855 and made his sole appearance for the club as a 37 year old in September 1892 making Jim the oldest ever Villa debutant.

Villa had signed Jim from Vale of Leven FC

Jim played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Jim then retuned to his native Scotland to play for Dundee Harp.

Jim passed away in his native Scotland in 1924 aged 79.
