It is now clear to all that the relatively empty fixture list in March was a serious error of judgement by the FA with Villa likely to still be completing their games in late May. Sidebottom bravely remains on the pitch and is only replaced on 85' with 19 year old defender John Sleeuwenhoek taking over goalkeeping duties. Villa face Everton on Monday with Sidebottom unlikely to be available.
